Celebrating Vittra 30 years
On September 13th, all Vittra schools celebrated Vittra's 30th anniversary.
In the autumn of 1993, the first two preschools opened their doors in Sollentuna - Törnskogens barnstuga and Rösjötorp. These initiatives marked the beginning of Vittra, which today comprises 25 preschools and primary schools in southern and central Sweden. Vittra Rösjötorp in Sollentuna was part of the initial journey.
Anneli Wisén serves as the Director of Education for Vittra's school group:
"Today, we have the trust of educating nearly 9,000 children and students in our 25 preschools and primary schools. This truly makes me proud," says Anneli Wisén.
Right from the start, Vittra demonstrated a commitment to society and a drive to provide children and students with the tools to contribute to a sustainable democratic society.
"One of the many things we take pride in is our Vittrabooks, where students' individual development plans are documented. Vittra was the first in Sweden to work with individual development plans, which later became part of the Swedish curriculum," says Anneli Wisén.
Children and students celebrate together
On September 13th, Vittradagen took place at all preschools and schools across Sweden. On this day, students celebrated alongside staff by throwing parties, enjoying a festive lunch, and engaging in projects related to the schools' societal commitments.
Maud Grönqvist worked as a childcare worker at Rösjötorps preschool since its inception in 1993. Today, she works as a leisure pedagogue in an institution that has evolved over the years into an international preschool and primary school with students up to the 6th grade. The school now represents over 30 languages.
"Vittra has always stood for development and learning, both for children and adults, then and now. It has truly been an exciting journey to be a part of," says Maud Grönqvist.
Vittra Rösjötorp International in Sollentuna began the day with a collective gathering where students showcased their skills to one another.
