3 tips to teach your child about recycling
At Vittra, community engagement is central – sustainability and recycling is a natural part of that. We have put together some simple tips on how you can engage and teach your child about recycling and sustainability at home.
1. Get involved in Håll Sverige Rent's annual trash pick-up campaigns and play trash-bingo
Every year,Håll Sverige Rent organizes several days with a focus on keeping our common world clean together. You can, for example, take part in one of the Garbage Picker Days, the Coast Guard Day or the Keep Sweden Clean Day if you want to participate and contribute to a cleaner and better society.
To make it even more fun, Skräplabbet has created a trash-bingo. You can find it here.
2. Arts and crafts with trash
Instead of buying all new arts and crafts material, let your child let their imagination run wild and create things with what is usually considered trash. Build a castle from old cardboards and toilet rolls, make a pen cup out of an aluminum can or let your child decorate an old milk or egg carton and set some seeds in it.
3. Let you child join the recycling – at an early age
Let your child join the recycling at home. By making children feel that they can affect the environment and early on awaken an interest in recycling, the right conditions are created for them to want to be involved in creating a sustainable world with a good approach to nature and the environment.
